Beverly Dental Care may determine that you need a tooth extraction for any number of reasons. Often, some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed while others may have advanced periodontal disease. Other cases may involve a tooth that is broken in a way that cannot be repeaired. And, in some cases, teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth (such as an impacted 3rd molar), or in preperation for orthodontic treatment.

Once a tooth has been removed, Dr. Fabian Taghdiri will discuss potential options for the replacement of the extracted tooth/teeth such as an implant or a bridge.

Root Canals

When a tooth is experiencing pain or discomfort, often times the only solution to relieve these symptoms is a root canal. When decay or damage to a tooth has reached to the pulp or fibrous tissue within the tooth, a tooth becomes diseased and open to bacteria. To save your natural tooth, root canal therapy is needed. During a root canal, Dr. Fabian Taghdiri removes the damaged enamel and diseased portion of the tooth and then refills the space while capping it with a porcelain or ceramic crown to restore the strength of the tooth. Once the procedure is completed, you will have full use of your tooth again and will be free from any pain or discomfort.

Implants

Dental implants are designed to replace one or more missing teeth or secure a dental bridge or denture with stability similar to natural teeth – if not stronger! Once a titanium implant is placed securely in the bone, the implant coating integrates with the bone. Once bonded a crown can be placed on the implant. New tooth colored materials eliminate any gray shadow under the implant crown. In addition to regaining function of a tooth, and an aesthetic smile, placing implants help preserve facial structure by preventing loss of bone which occurs when teeth are missing.
